“First of all, know that teething is a normal process in kids, and all children go through some amount of discomfort during this period. There are few symptoms and solutions which can help. Below are some core symptoms and tips to get little relief, if not 100% cure..”

Symptoms in Children

  • Irritability: The sharp little tooth rising closer to the surface makes gum’s sore and painful. The pain is often worse when the first teeth and the molars come in. some babies cry each time a new tooth comes in, some sail through rather easily.
  • Drooling : At three to four months, you might notice a lot of drooling, stimulated by teething.
  • Coughing : The extra saliva can cause baby to cough occasionally. Don’t worry, but make sure it is not a proper cough or cold.
  • Chin rash : May occur as saliva is in contact with their delicate chins. Keep wiping the mouth and chin gently.
  • Biting and gnawing : A teething baby will gnaw on anything. The counter pressure from biting on something helps relieve the pressure from under the gum’s.
  • Cheek rubbing and ear pulling: Pain in the gum’s may travel to the ears and cheeks. This causes baby to rub her cheeks or pull her ears. Keep in mind that pulling at an ear can also be a sign of a near infection.
  • Diarrhea : It is believed that slightly looser bowel movements may occur as the extra saliva swallowed may loose the stool. Tell the doctor if there are more than two loose motions.
  • Low-grade fever : Some babies do have a slight fever during teething. But inform your doctor if a fever lasts more than two loose motions.
  • Not sleeping well : The pain can keep baby awake at night. This should settle as more teeth come along.
  • Cold-like symptoms : A runny nose, coughing and general cold symptoms happen because baby has its hands in the mouth more often. Again, tell your doctor about the infection.
